Jewelers of America (JA) has unveiled new scholarship opportunities for 2026, targeting employees within its member organizations. These programs, the Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman Bench Scholarship and the Jewelers of America Scholarship Program, are designed to enhance the professional expertise of individuals in the fine jewelry industry through advanced education and certification.
These scholarships are a testament to JA's commitment to nurturing talent. The Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman Bench Scholarship, developed in collaboration with Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman, offers financial aid for accredited bench jeweler and metalsmithing courses, with applications due by June 30, 2026. Simultaneously, the Jewelers of America Scholarship Program supports a broader range of professional development, including certifications from esteemed bodies like the American Gem Society (AGS) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), accepting applications through September 30, 2026, or until funds are depleted. Eligibility requires applicants to be at least 18 years old, have a minimum of one year's experience at a JA Member store, and not be concurrently enrolled in similar programs from participating educational providers. Awards are limited to one per store and a maximum of three per membership during the application window.
These initiatives underscore a vital investment in the human capital of the jewelry sector. By facilitating access to specialized training and recognized certifications, Jewelers of America is not only uplifting individual careers but also reinforcing the industry's overall standard of craftsmanship and ethical practice. Such dedication to educational advancement cultivates a resilient, innovative, and highly competent professional community, ensuring the continued brilliance and integrity of the fine jewelry market for generations to come.
